General guidelines

1. Everything said in The Worldwide Supply Chain Federation’s (#TWSCF) Slack Community should be treated as being discussed in public. Don't have any conversations here that you want to be private. Like the community we are building in the physical world, this is an open community that is open to anyone who identifies as being obsessively enthusiastic and wildly passionate about supply chain, innovation, and technology.

2. Treat people respectfully. Our general rule of thumb is we each only talk to people here the way we would talk to them in real life.

3. We have a zero tolerance policy for hateful conduct. Your account will immediately be suspended if you promote violence, or attack or threaten others on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, religion, age or disability. This policy extends to all content and conduct in any forums and events organized and managed by #TWSCF and each of its member chapters; On Slack and Meetup.com specifically this includes posts, comments, direct messages, usernames and profiles.

4. We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment of any kind. Your account will immediately be suspended and you will be blacklisted from future participation in any events organized by #TWSCF and each of its member chapters.

5. #TWSCF’s digital platforms are not intended for self-promotion or personal brand building. It's ok to contribute articles you've written or offer your services, so long as your primary goal is to be helpful to others and add value to the community.

6. Please treat the information on member profiles with respect; do not scrape member information (manually or with scripts), and do not send promotional materials to members.

7. We always have the right to remove you from any event or platform organized by #TWSCF or any of its member chapters. For example, you might be removed if you don't follow these guidelines.

9. As #TWSCF grows, our culture will always be changing, so these guidelines are likely to change over time.

Direct Messaging (DM) Guidelines

1. Everything said over DM is off the record. Don't share DM messages with anyone outside #TWSCF’s Slack. That said, apply your judgement regarding what you discuss via DM.

2. Choose who to message and what you write with care. Keep your messages personal, concise, and specific. Make it easy for others to reply. For more tips, read this blogpost.

3. Optimize for asynchronous responses that a busy person can answer quickly. Meeting in person for coffee, or having phone conversations might not be feasible for everyone.

4. If you’re asking for advice, consider who has experience or opinions on the matter, and how busy the person is before you send a message. Choose one person to message for advice at a time.

5. If you’re copy-pasting the same message to multiple people, you’re likely violating these guidelines, and you risk being suspended indefinitely at the discretion of #TWSCF’s community organizers.

6. Avoid self-promotion or promotion of your product or service.

7. Do not message members about job opportunities.
